Small North Bristol Practice interested in a merger or possible sale

We are delighted to have been retained by a Solicitors’ Practice based in North Bristol . This Practice is based in a well developed commercial environment. However, the Principal recognises that although they are able to provide their Clients a personal service, he feels that there are many Clients whose needs they are not able to satisfy because of the wide range of Client needs in the area. Accordingly, he would like to explore options whereby they might be absorbed within a larger organisation looking for an office in North Bristol . As an alternative, he might be prepared to sell the Practice as a going concern.

Turnover for the last financial year was approximately £355,000 and was made up of Residential Conveyancing [65%], Commercial Property [20%] and Wills/Trust/Probate [15%].

There is a computerised client database as well as about 520 Wills, Deeds and EPAs.

They do not handle legal aid work.

The offices are based in a modern office unit in a prestigious character building in its own grounds with ample free parking, about 7 miles from Bristol City Centre with close proximity to the M4, M5, M32 and M49.

Apart from the full time Principal, there is one other fee earner, a Practice Manager and three full time support staff.

This Practice is close to a number of large business parks with phenomenal potential for company/commercial and employment work which this practice does not handle. W e believe it would be of interest to provincial Firms wishing to gain a foothold in Bristol to develop their Commercial and Private Client bases in this increasingly attractive area.
