We are delighted to have been retained by a Sole Practitioner Solicitors’ Practice with offices in a suburb of Bournemouth. The Principal is interested in disposing of the Practice to devote time to the development of outside business interests, although it is anticipated that the Principal would be willing to remain with the Practice as a Consultant for a short while to facilitate a smooth transition.

Turnover for the last financial year was in the region of £403K and is made up approximately of Residential Conveyancing (41%), Commercial Property (5%), Wills/Trust/Probate (32%), Matrimonial/Family (5%), Personal Injury (6%), Notarial/Oaths/Affidavits (2%), miscellaneous litigious (3%) and miscellaneous non litigious (6%).

The Firm does not hold any legal aid franchises.

Apart from the Principal, there are 3 full time equivalent fee earners and 5 support staff.

The Practice’s leased offices are based on a busy main road through this Bournemouth suburb with close proximity to shops, a library, pubs, restaurants, banks with excellent parking facilities.

This firm was originally part of a Bournemouth based multi-branch practice but has been independent for around 15 years. This Practice has approximately 3,200 wills and 1,300 deeds. However, as this firm have a policy of writing to every Will client every three years inviting them to review their will, this results in a far higher percentage of probate instructions and prevents the will bank from becoming “stale”.
