We are delighted to have been retained by a Sole Practitioners Solicitors’ Practice based in the RH postcode area of East Sussex. The Principal is interested in selling and/or merging the Practice as a going concern due to proposed retirement but might be prepared to remain as a consultant for a short while after disposal to assist with a smooth transition.

Turnover is in the region of £700,000 and was made up approximately of Residential Conveyancing/Relocation work [54%], Wills/Trust/Probate [29%], Commercial Property [6½%], Miscellaneous Litigious [1½%] and Miscellaneous Non Litigious [9%]. It is noted that, despite the current uncertain economic climate, this firm is running ahead of budget due to its excellent probate and elderly client offerings.

This well established Practice has been in the area for over 35 years, and is situated on a major trunk road between London and the south coast being the only law firm in the immediate vicinity.

Apart from the Principal, there are 5 fee earners and 7 support staff.

The Practice, which does not hold any Legal Aid Franchises, occupies leased office space virtually in the centre of this small town which has about 150 local businesses, with considerable footfall and passing trade, being close to a parade of numerous “high street” shops and restaurants, four pubs and a garage . The practice also holds about 4,000 wills, deeds and EPAs.

From this Firms’ offices, Clients in Uckfield, Crowborough, Haywards Heath, Crawley and Tunbridge Wells could be easily be targeted.
